This series wonders aloud about who this "girl" might be and what makes a "girl" in general. I borrow the rainbow both from the stuff of girly childhood & from queer symbolism to be a recurrent metaphor for growth, pain, gender, and joy. Throughout the series, the rainbow - exuberant, resplendent, saturated - is an irrepressible force that wins out in the end.
